El conocimiento y la innovación se convirtieron en prioridades nacionales en Argentina con el establecimiento del Ministerio de Ciencia y Tecnología en el 2007, y el cambio de Secretaría de Agricultura Ganadería y Pesca a Ministerio en el 2009, hechos a partir de los cuales la inversión en investigación agropecuaria del país presentó un notable crecimiento.
